Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how PlantLife AI collects, uses, and shares information when you use the PlantLife AI Android app.
1. Information We Collect
PlantLife AI may collect the following information:
- Account information such as your email address when you create or sign in to an account.
- Plant images you choose to capture with the camera or select from your gallery or system photo picker.
- Analysis details generated from your images, including plant identification, disease or stress signals, care recommendations, and weekly check-in history.
- Subscription and payment status needed to manage PlantLife Pro. Payment processing is handled by third-party payment providers.
- App settings stored on your device, including your one-time consent choice for AI image analysis and reminder preferences.
2. Camera and Gallery Access
PlantLife AI requests access only for app features you choose to use.
- Camera access is used so you can take photos of plants inside the app for identification and disease analysis.
- Gallery or photo picker access is used so you can select existing photos from your device.
- PlantLife AI processes only the images you actively select for analysis. It does not scan your full photo library.
3. AI Image Analysis and One-Time Consent
Before PlantLife AI sends plant images for AI analysis for the first time, the app shows a one-time consent prompt. If you do not allow this, your selected images are not sent to Pl@ntNet or Gemini for analysis.
- Images are sent to Pl@ntNet to help with plant identification and, when requested, disease detection signals.
- Images and analysis context are then sent to Gemini to generate condition summaries, care guidance, and practical recommendations.
- Your consent choice is stored on your device so you are not asked on every scan.
4. How We Use Information
- Provide plant identification and disease analysis features.
- Generate plant care suggestions and weekly follow-up guidance.
- Save plant history and analysis records to your account.
- Manage subscription status, billing flows, and account access.
- Support app reliability, security, and basic feature settings.
5. Storage and Retention
- Selected images may be temporarily copied into app storage during processing.
- Temporary local processing copies are deleted after analysis is completed or canceled.
- A representative plant image and the related analysis results may be stored with your account so you can view your plant history later.
- If you delete your account, PlantLife AI is intended to remove the associated account data from the service.
6. Third-Party Services
PlantLife AI relies on third-party services to operate core features. These may process data as needed to provide their services.
- Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and backend functions.
- Pl@ntNet for plant identification and disease detection support.
- Gemini for AI-generated plant condition analysis and care guidance.
- Razorpay or similar payment providers for subscription payments.
PlantLife AI does not sell your personal information.
7. Your Choices
- You can choose not to grant camera or gallery access, but some app features will not work without selected images.
- You can decline the one-time AI image upload consent. In that case, PlantLife AI will not send selected images to Pl@ntNet or Gemini.
- You can stop using the app, sign out, or request account deletion from within the app.
8. Children's Privacy
PlantLife AI is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. When updated, the revised effective date will be posted in this document.
